April 2026 product updates
Rapid
April’s product updates are here, and they’re all about administrative control.
We’ve been listening to your feedback about bottlenecks and time sinks, and this month’s releases reflect that.
From RapidCheck transparency and self-service ABN updates to granular site access control and streamlined permit approvals, these features should help make your daily work faster and more efficient.
Heatmaps in Rapid Monitor
If you have integrated Rapid with your workplace cameras, you can now visualise where risk happens. Heatmaps aggregate people movement and activity over time, revealing high-traffic zones, unsafe behaviours, and overlooked blind spots across your site.
Use heatmaps to spot deviations from pedestrian paths in forklift areas, monitor activity in restricted zones, or identify congestion points impacting safety, all without having to review hours of camera footage.
You can also filter by the last hour, 24 hours or 7 days to understand not just where risk occurs but when it emerges.

RapidCheck now explains its reasoning
RapidCheck keeps getting smarter. This time, about communicating with you.
When a document fails verification, instead of simply displaying “Does not appear to be a valid document”, RapidCheck will now provide specific reasoning explaining why the document was rejected in detail.

This transparency helps administrators quickly understand what’s wrong, to help guide contractors on what needs to be corrected, reducing back-and-forth and speeding up the approval process.
Control contractor access with Approved Sites
Administrators now have granular control over which sites a Contractor Company can issue inductions for.
When enabled, the new Approved Sites feature lets you specify exactly which sites (formerly called Secondary Sites) a contractor can be registered against.
Contractor Administrators will only be able to upload SWMS and issue inductions for their Primary Site and any Approved Sites that have been designated, giving Administrators better oversight and control over where contractors operate.

Update Contractor ABNs
We’ve introduced a new permission that allows client administrators to update a Contractor Company’s ABN directly, without needing to contact Rapid support.
It’s important to note that, when an ABN is updated, the Contractor Company is automatically reverted to Awaiting Registration status and prompted to re-register with updated documents, ensuring compliance is maintained.
Instructions on how to update ABNs are stored on our website, here.

Assign Responsible Admins to Work Orders
Based on feedback about streamlining permit approvals further, we’ve introduced a new Responsible Admin option for Work Orders.
When enabled, you can assign a specific administrator to each Work Order who will become a Responsible Admin and therefore receive all related notifications and have approval authority, regardless of their standard permit approver status.
This gives you precise control over who manages each high-risk activity, and the Responsible Admin now appears directly in the Work Order grid with dedicated filtering for easy tracking.

Pre-populate Trainee forms
We have made trainee forms more flexible, streamlining the completion process for everyone involved.
A new “Always Allow Admin Edit” setting lets administrators pre-populate fields before sending forms to trainees, while still allowing trainees to complete their portions.
Bug fixes and performance improvements
Beyond these headline features, we’ve made the usual round of fixes and improvements that keep the Rapid platform reliable and responsive.
